DG  is a very established business with the Dublin office employing over 800 staff. The UK business subsequently opened in 2006 becoming very successful, growing significantly within the last two years and currently employing over 200 staff which will continue to increase over the next five years. Due to this substantial business growth in Ireland and overseas, we have a requirement to expand our Senior Leadership Team. Our pipeline of new projects requires  experienced Construction Managers to provide leadership and direction to construction teams, fostering positive engagement at all levels across the project.

With such a healthy workbook of large projects in the pipeline this is an extremely exciting time to join Designer Group.

As Construction Manager you will be managing a construction team on a given project.  Operating to our Gold Standards and reflecting our Company Values, you will be responsible to ensure the projects are delivered on time, on budget, to the highest quality standards and exceeding client’s expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be an expert in the Safety and Health Regulations and company policy applicable to the work on which you are engaged and insist that the prescribed standards are observed.
  • Ensure that the safe systems of work are in place including all QEHS paperwork, regular cleanups and insisting that all employees, sub-contractors and visitors are using the correct PPE
  • Ensure that adequate access and egress throughout the site comply with the regulations.
  • Supervision of all on-site personnel – specialist sub-contract, agency and direct employees etc.
  • Plan labour and material requirements in line with company policy and procedures, ensuring adequate stocks/materials are available on-site at all times.
  • In conjunction with the Project Manager, manage all aspects of programming of works and monitoring building progress; specified and alternative equipment submittals, compliance with regulations and issue weekly progress reports.
  • Ensure productivity monitoring is put in place for all direct employed/agency operatives.
  • Complete daily harmony meetings and record same.
  • Record any changes in site diary and advise Contracts Manager – No variations to be completed unless prior agreement is in place.
  • Issue weekly progress reports to Contracts Manager.
  • Co-ordination of plant movement and plant records, and keeping log records up to date and accurate and reporting plant issues.
  • Co-ordination of delivery of materials to site, when required, including checking quantity and quality of deliveries and taking full responsibility for same.
  • Liaison with clients, main contractors, specialists and other trades personnel as and when required.
  • Attendance at all project related and management meetings as required.
  • Comply with Designer Group Policies and Procedures throughout day to day working.

 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Ability to demonstrate building strong working relationships & stakeholder management.
  • Strong interpersonal & written communication skills.
  • Proven high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Great people manager

Qualifications 

  • Ideally 15+ years’ experience in M&E background.
  • Third Level Degree
