Designer Group delivered full EPC services for a cogeneration facility in Jalisco, Mexico, incorporating a turnkey biomass energy plant and high-voltage electrical infrastructure designed to support low-carbon energy generation.

The project scope included the design, prefabrication, supply, delivery, offload and ingress, civil and M&E construction, equipment installation, commissioning, training, and testing of the plant systems. The facility features biomass boilers and a 30MW thermal plant with 6MWe steam turbines, enabling efficient conversion of biomass into thermal and electrical energy while supporting carbon reduction objectives.

Designer Group also delivered the site’s HV electrical infrastructure, including 33kV substations, ring main distribution and backup generation, along with full installation, commissioning and performance testing.

Due to international logistics constraints, key elements of the plant were prefabricated offsite, improving quality control and reducing onsite installation time. The completed facility provides a reliable and sustainable energy solution while demonstrating Designer Group’s capability to deliver complex turnkey energy and infrastructure projects internationally.
