A major hospitality redevelopment in Northamptonshire, UK, is set to transform the former Farthingstone Hotel and Golf Complex, with Designer Group appointed to deliver the MEP installation for the project.
Located on a 100-acre site, the development will create a luxury hotel and leisure destination featuring 61 visitor cabins, a central hub building with a restaurant, and a state-of-the-art leisure facility comprising a spa, gym and swimming pools.
Sustainability and carbon reduction have been key drivers throughout the project’s design. The development will utilise locally sourced materials, timber structures and offsite construction methods, including SIPs panel construction, to reduce environmental impact and improve efficiencies. The completed venue is targeting net-zero carbon operation, with energy-efficient buildings and systems integrated throughout the site.
As part of the project, Designer Group will deliver a comprehensive MEP package across the development, including a number of plant rooms, site-wide utilities infrastructure, supplies to accommodation cabins and leisure facilities. The works will incorporate low-carbon heating and cooling systems, hot water generation, electrical distribution networks, EV charging infrastructure, building management systems (BMS), ICT infrastructure and life safety systems. These integrated services will support the development’s net-zero ambitions while ensuring a reliable, energy-efficient environment for guests and operators.
Drawing on extensive experience in the hospitality sector, Designer Group will deliver integrated engineering solutions that support guest comfort, operational efficiency and long-term sustainability. The project further strengthens the company’s growing portfolio of hospitality developments across the UK and Ireland, delivering critical building services infrastructure for complex, high-quality destinations.
