Located in the heart of Dublin’s Docklands, 25 North Wall Quay has been transformed into Ireland’s first net zero carbon office, serving as a cutting-edge, smart and sustainable headquarters for A&L Goodbody. Designer Group is proud to have contributed to this landmark redevelopment for IPUT Real Estate Dublin, delivering the full scope of mechanical and electrical (M&E) installations.
Our scope of works included the integration of smart building management systems, energy-efficient HVAC installations, and electrical power distribution — all aligned with the project’s ambitious sustainability goals. Working closely with project partners, we ensured the seamless delivery of critical systems such as air-source heat pumps, PV panels, lighting, ventilation, and life-safety infrastructure, enabling the building’s transition to net-zero carbon operation.
The redevelopment sets a new benchmark for sustainability and workplace design. Designed to minimise environmental impact and optimise operational efficiency, the project achieved a 60% reduction in embodied carbon through the strategic reuse of structural elements, while 90% of construction waste was diverted from landfill. The integration of smart systems, air-source heat pumps, photovoltaic (PV) panels and WELL/LEED-ready features ensures long-term energy performance and environmental resilience.
Wilton Park, is a landmark office and retail development in Dublin city centre, delivering approximately 60,000m2 of high-quality interconnecting space across six floors, including ground and lower levels. The project has achieved LEED Platinum certification and has been designed to meet the highest standards of sustainability, efficiency, and digital connectivity, with the aim of operating entirely on renewable energy and free of fossil fuels.
Designer Group successfully delivered the full electrical installation for the development, which incorporates medium voltage switchgear and transformers, low voltage switchboards and distribution, emergency generation, lighting and lighting control, solar PV, EV charging infrastructure, fire detection, PA/VA systems, data and voice communications, security systems including CCTV and access control, and lightning protection.
Wilton Park is a key component of a new neighbourhood set to host 5,000 people living and working in the area. The development has been thoughtfully designed to transform this part of Dublin city centre, combining office, retail, and amenity-rich streetscapes. Public realm enhancements include a new square and a restored one-acre park, providing welcoming spaces to eat, shop, relax, and enjoy.
Designer Group delivered the MEP fit-out works for the Guinness Open Gate Brewery at Old Brewer’s Yard, Covent Garden. The 5,0000sqm development integrates several historic buildings to create a modern visitor destination combining a working microbrewery with hospitality, retail and public engagement spaces.
Designer Group was proud to support our long-term client, Diageo, in delivering the full MEP fit-out across five buildings forming the new London Guinness experience. Our scope included services supporting the brewery, two restaurants, a bar and retail space, with a strong focus on exposed MEP installations designed to complement the architectural vision. Working within existing structures required carefully developed retrofit solutions, while ensuring the delivery of robust BMS and fire protection systems.
Projects of this scale and complexity, particularly within a constrained and historic environment such as Covent Garden, require strong collaboration, coordination and technical innovation. Designer Group is proud to have played a role in bringing this exceptional destination to life.
Coopers Cross is a landmark mixed-use development occupying an entire 5.9-acre city block in Dublin’s Central Business District, the development has played a key role in the regeneration of the North Docks, delivering 449 high-quality private rented sector (PRS) residential units alongside extensive commercial space.
Designer Group successfully completed the full Shell & Core and CAT A mechanical and electrical installation for the commercial development, following the earlier delivery of the electrical package for the adjacent residential phase.
The development has been completed to the highest standards of sustainability, energy performance and digital connectivity, achieving LEED Platinum, WiredScore Platinum, SmartScore, WELL Gold and BER A3 certifications.
Our scope of works was extensive, delivering advanced, fully integrated mechanical and electrical systems to support a highly energy-efficient, future-ready building. On the mechanical side, this included high-performance, fully electric (fossil fuel–free) four-pipe multi-function heat pumps with large-scale thermal storage for off-peak charging, domestic hot water systems using multi-stage heat pump technology, and advanced heat recovery solutions. Intelligent building management controls, rainwater harvesting systems, and comprehensive energy monitoring were implemented across all platforms.
The electrical package included MV switchgear and transformers, LV distribution boards, emergency generator systems, full security installations (including CCTV and access control), fire alarm and PA/VA systems, structured data and voice cabling, rooftop solar PV arrays, EV charging infrastructure, and comprehensive lightning protection.
One Nine Elms is a landmark residential development comprising two of Europe’s tallest residential towers: a 56-storey City Tower and a 42-storey River Tower, connected by a glazed bridge providing access to shared amenities. The scheme delivers over 73,000 sqm of high-spec residential accommodation, alongside retail space, a sky garden, and a residents’ lounge at Level 50 with panoramic views across the River Thames.
Designer Group delivered the mechanical shell and core works, including rainwater systems, public health, heating, ventilation, comfort cooling, LTHW, chillers, cooling towers, smoke extract, and full insulation. Modern methods of construction were applied extensively, with a high level of prefabrication improving quality, safety, and programme efficiency.
Sustainability was embedded throughout the development. The project has been designed for future compatibility with the wider Nine Elms district heating network, supporting reduced carbon emissions and improved energy performance. Energy-efficient building services further enhance operational efficiency, positioning One Nine Elms as a benchmark for high-rise residential development and reinforcing Designer Group’s capability in delivering sustainable, technically complex projects.
Heathrow Airport is the UK’s busiest airport, handling over 80 million passengers annually, with an average daily footfall of more than 219,000.
