Millbrook Power

The Millbrook Power Project is located in Bedfordshire, UK. The facility has the capacity to generate up to 299 MW of electricity, providing enough power for around 150,000 homes. As a peaking plant, it operates during periods of high electricity demand, supporting stability within the UK’s energy network.

The plant comprises an Open Cycle Gas Turbine (OCGT) designed to provide rapid-response power generation when supply is low or demand is high. Electricity generated at the plant is exported directly to the National Grid Electricity Transmission System, providing flexible generation to support the UK power system.

Designer Group’s scope included 400kV electrical works, incorporating transformer assembly, busbar installation, ducting, and switchyard installation, enabling the safe and efficient export of power to the national transmission network.
