We were delighted to once again support International Women’s Day across our offices and sites this year, as we recognise and celebrate women across the world.

We are lucky to have a large number of fantastic women as part of our Designer Group team across a variety of roles both office and site based. The construction industry is a very male dominated environment; therefore, we feel an even greater sense of responsibility and duty to develop and foster a culture that recognises and celebrates respect, inclusion and diversity. It is extremely important that everyone within Designer Group recognises that they have a part to play in challenging gender stereotypes not just in the workplace but throughout their daily lives. We understand the importance of working together to break the gender bias.

It was an honour to have our graduate mechanical engineer, Kate, invited to participate in the Construction Industry Federation International Women’s Day ‘Skills Panel’, where she spoke about her journey to becoming a mechanical engineer and her experience in the construction industry so far. Kate was joined by a panel of inspiring women in the industry, which was moderated by Dermot Carey, CIF Safety and Training Director.
