The construction industry is a challenging workplace. Acknowledging and addressing the factors which affect people’s wellbeing at work is something which we are deeply committed to. Designer Group has made it a priority to support all our staff with their overall health and wellbeing. We have our very own professionally trained mental health first aiders and champions who are on-hand for an informal and completely confidential conversation.
Workplace wellbeing relates to all areas of work. It not only includes the quality and safety of the workplace, but how staff feel about their work, the environment and culture. Even a small change towards healthier workplace habits can lead to better physical and mental wellbeing.
We have reimagined our workspaces, especially in our offices where we have open-plan zones and are promoting a more relaxed and collaborative environment, which complements our business culture.
Following a recent care survey, Designer Group pledged to create a brand-new wellbeing committee – “DG Holistic”. This group of volunteers from all areas of the business meet each month to chat through ways that we can make a positive contribution to our people. So far, we have been able to help by arranging quarterly mental health forums, an exclusive fitness programme, provisions of fresh fruit at all our workplaces and have even provided a spin bike in some of our offices! Check out our news page for more stories and events.
We want to encourage healthy habits every day. But for those times when life happens, we offer wrap around extras to give our people peace of mind and extra support. Some of these benefits include enhanced health and wellbeing checks, our Employee Assistance Programme, medical insurance plans and cycle to work scheme.
Our benefits are individually tailored to each local business and you will be advised of your personal benefits package as part of your onboarding process.
