Recently, members of our Designer Group team attended the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity summer lunch in Croke Park with Ivan Yakes as event MC. The event was attended by peers from the construction industry and sports stars Shane Byrne, former Irish rugby union player, David Gillick, Irish Olympic athlete, John Treacy, Olympic Medallist, Stephanie Roche, Footballer, Ciara Peelo, former Irish sailor and Tom Parsons, CEO Gaelic Players Association, all of whom formed part of a panel discussion.

Designer Group has been a keen and dedicated supporter of the Lighthouse Club Charity for many years, and we are delighted that our Head of Health, Safety and Environment, Derek Murphy, has recently taken over the role of charity Chairperson. The large attendance at the event was a testament to the commitment and support of mental health and wellbeing within the construction industry. An astonishing €60,000 was raised on the day and will go towards supporting the fantastic work carried out by the Lighthouse Club Charity.

Also on display on the day was an original Lighthouse Club Charity model. The model, which dates back to 1995, was recently discovered by an original Lighthouse Club member. The model had fallen into disrepair and needed some restoration works. It was our pleasure to assist in the restoration works, which consisted of electrical repairs and the reconstruction of the base, which was kindly carried out by BAM Ireland.
