Recruitment journey
Employing passionate, highly skilled and engaged people who share our company values is vital to our success, which is why we have dedicated internal HR teams based in our local offices who will support you through every step of your recruitment journey.
Depending on your prospective role the assessment process could include an initial phone screening, interviews – either remotely or face to face – competency-based assessments and personal profiling. Following this process, we’ll request reference checks and the successful candidates will receive an offer letter. You’ll then begin your onboarding journey with Designer Group.

Meet our team
Since joining Designer Group I have always communicated my desire for career progression and for establishing myself in the business. Nick and the senior team were very welcoming and set out a path of what I could achieve in the business, and through hard work I have been rewarded and feel part of the family here. I started at Designer Group four years ago, joined as an Electrical Project Manager Lead and have been promoted to Senior Project Manager and then to Operations Manager. I have enjoyed my journey and supporting the great work colleagues and teams that I look after and the business that has been built here. I’m proud to come to work and share my ethos and work ethic, promoting and delivering quality every day.

I’ve been working for DG as an Electrical Site Manager for 4 years and during this time I feel my career has progressed immensely. DG has invested in me as an employee and given me a platform to increase my skill set through many courses enabling me to lead large teams on projects. What I am most impressed with since coming to DG is their policy on mental health and wellbeing. In my opinion DG are leading the way as a contractor in the fight to promote positive mental health and wellbeing. I have undergone a mental health first-aider course and I am now a mental health and wellness ambassador within the company. I started my journey with Designer Group in 2013 as an Electrical Apprentice. During my time at DG, I have gained so many new skills and experiences and am currently working as an electrical engineer. This has been made possible by the experiences I have gained working at DG and the courses I have been encouraged and supported to go on. I have had the benefit of working under a range of great managers, all of whom have helped with my development and helped me to get where I am with my career today.

Apprenticeships
From contributing bright ideas to work-ready, our apprenticeships are an exciting and proven way for people to develop their talent. If you’d like to earn-while-you-learn, we offer a 4-year apprenticeship, in either electrical or plumbing installation to young people who are aged 16 and over.
