MSD is one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. It provides innovative medicines for diabetes, heart disease, immune-oncology and infectious disease patients. MSD has operations across four sites in Ireland. The new MSD biotech facility in Swords will manufacture its biologics and immuno-oncology drugs for the global market, when it begins production in 2021. 

Designer Group secured the electrical QC Laboratory installation for this modular construction project, comprising of a 1,922 sq.m., two-storey QC laboratory and open plan offices, reception and meeting/huddle rooms and a 910 sq.m. plant room. 

Designer Group was responsible for the design of the electrical installation in line with the modular construction philosophy, using a modular wiring system for power and lighting. Robust planning was critical to this project to meet the tight programme. Design works commenced in June 2018 and construction works commenced in November 2018. 

This project had a 25-week design programme and a 37-week construction programme. It was completed in  July 2019.
