After a successful build, we are excited to announce that this month, the first useable steam was produced at the Tusker Biomass Steam Plant facility in Nairobi. Output has since quickly increased and steam production has now completely taken over from the old oil fueled system, meeting the full brewery demand as of 7th July.

This is the second of three biomass projects to come online, and the combined impact will save approximately 42,000 tons of carbon annually for our client, East African Breweries. In turn it will also divert revenue from the oil industry to the local agricultural industry, having a huge, positive social impact on the community.

Protecting our planet is key to our strategic plan and our long-term sustainability vision is demonstrated through the delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects, just like the Tusker Brewery.

Well done to all the Designer Group team involved!
