Construction Safety Week (CSW) is a mainstay on the Designer Group (DG) calendar, and as gold sponsors, we are proud to collaborate closely with the Construction Industry Federation (CIF), and its partners. Providing professional health, safety and wellbeing support that drives the success of this National campaign, this year, we championed the initiatives extension to a full month of meaningful engagement and activity.

Directly employing a dedicated team of more than 1,000 staff, and through our supply chain, supporting the employment of hundreds more, we maximised this opportunity to promote our positive and proactive safety culture by giving practical presentations, sharing invaluable knowledge and demonstrating techniques that can be immediately implemented on site.

Marking the significance of World Mental Health Day, we were delighted to host the first destination of the Irish ‘Help Inside the Hard Hat’ site tour, a campaign led by The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, that raises awareness of mental health in construction. As long-term supporters of the charity, we have built a strong working relationship with its committee and partnered with them closely to ensure its maiden tour was a huge success.

As a leading innovative and sustainable provider of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation engineering solutions, we committed to delivering a number of activities across the month including; standdowns, ‘Toolbox Talks’, panel discussions, free vehicle health checks, emergency preparedness testing, quizzes, free health screenings and more!

It was fantastic to witness our colleagues, clients and fellow sponsors ideas and their corresponding activities, to support CSW and its highlighted themes, and we are overwhelmed by the unparalleled collaboration we observed.

Designer Group concluded the campaign by demonstrating clear leadership commitment at our onsite reward events, recognising employees for their individual outstanding contributions to occupational health and safety standards.

Group CEO, Michael Stone added; “Designer Group remains committed to continuous improvement, in our people, our projects and in our approach to health and safety, we have instilled a positive health and safety culture and embraced a values system which is the foundation of our success.

We owe a huge thank you to all our supply chain partners, our clients and our people for supporting us to deliver excellence, and we congratulate everyone on their participation in Construction Safety Week 2022.

Our people are paramount. Our number one priority is their healthsafety and wellbeing. The reinforcement of this will forever be the most important topic, and a core Designer Group value, all day, every day.”
