Designer Group is pleased to announce that we have contributed to achieving 250,000 Lost Time Injury (LTI)-free work hours on a large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing project in Ireland.

Our aspect of the project involves the delivery of process mechanical and electrical installations within a new Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) building on a live manufacturing site. Working within an operational pharmaceutical environment presents additional complexity, requiring meticulous planning, coordination and strict adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

Designer Group’s scope also includes the installation of over 7,900 metres of black and clean utility piping systems, complex equipment move-in and positioning for critical process assets, HVAC systems, electrical and instrumentation works, and full general services installations to support facility operations.

Martin Fagan, Operations Director, commented:

“Helping our client achieve 250,000 LTI-free work hours is a testament to the professionalism and commitment of our people and project partners. This milestone reinforces our commitment to ensuring everyone returns home safe every day.”

Safety is a core value at Designer Group and is driven by strong leadership, dedicated safety officers and a proactive site-based safety team. Regular training, audits, permit-to-work systems and lock-out/tag-out procedures are implemented to ensure safe working practices across all disciplines. Our teams are encouraged to report hazards and near misses, supporting a transparent and accountable safety culture.

Playing our substantial part reaching 250,000 LTI-free hours reflects continuous vigilance, effective safety systems and the commitment of everyone working on the project to maintain the highest health and safety standards in a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment.
