Designer Group has won an Irish Construction Industry Award for its pioneering apprenticeship program. We have a strong commitment to cultivating skilled talent in the industry through our dedicated training academy, located in Dublin. Over the past year, we have employed 120 apprentices across key fields, including Electrical Craft, Plumbing, and Engineering Services Management.

Recognising the challenges new apprentices face, we have implemented a comprehensive five-day induction to ensure apprentices are well-prepared and confident before joining large-scale construction projects. Additionally, the program addresses specific industry skills like electrical regulations and safe work systems, and we have installed welding and LV distribution panel training facilities to enhance practical skills.

Our commitment to excellence extends beyond technical training. As part of our CSR efforts, we collaborate with programs like Way2Work and provide apprenticeship and skills training to disadvantaged youth in Kenya. This award highlights Designer Group’s dedication to fostering industry talent and building a pipeline of future leaders.
