The media centre building for the London Olympic Games in 2012 facilitated an estimated 12,000 media staff. Here, media organisations from all over the world positioned their studios, editing equipment and offices for the duration of the games. The 60,000 m² site contained 160 recording studios.

In preparation for this project our team visited the media centre building in Vancouver, Canada, which was constructed for the Winter Olympic Games. Commercial We also witnessed the decommissioning and strip out of the building at the end of the Winter Games. The Olympic games were fast approaching so there was a narrow time-line for both the construction and strip out elements of this project. On the completion of the Games, the building was returned to its original shell and core condition by the construction team.
